The Cajun Company will play at at the Gloucester Cajun & Zydeco Festival, Gloucester, England on sunday January 24th. More information about the festival here.
We will also play at the Saulieu Cajun & Zydeco Festival this summer: August 5 - 8, Saulieu, France.

(Dutch) We spelen weinig in Den Haag. De enkele keer dat dit wel het geval is moeten we het ook vermelden, vinden wij.
Op maandagavond 23 februari: Café De Oude Mol, Oude Molstraat 61, 2513 B A Den Haag. Aanvang van het optreden 21.00 uur, we spelen, met een korte pauze, tot 23.00 uur.
Ook spelen we op vrijdagavond 20 maart in kunstenaarssociëteit "Pulchri Studio", Lange Voorhout 15, 2514 E A Den Haag. Eveneens van 21.00 tot 23.00 uur. De toegang is echter alleen voor leden van Pulchri en hun introducées.

Our upcoming gig in the UK will be: Friday April 3rd 2009 at the "Filé Gumbo Cajun CLub", Cecil Sharp House, 2 Regents Park Road, London NW1 7AY. We'll play a cajun dance starting at 20.30 till 23.00. Before the dance Tim and Madeleine will do a Cajun dance workshop which starts at 19.45. (Dutch) Houd je van Cajun muziek ? Speel je accordeon, gitaar, viool of triangel en zou je wel eens met andere muzikanten, onder professionele leiding, Cajun willen spelen ? Dat kan !
In het hemelvaartsweekend, en wel vanaf woensdag 20 tot en met zondag 24 mei organiseert Trekharmonicavereniging "Woarom nie" een harmonica weekend. Onder andere zal er door Bas van der Poll, accordeonist bij The Cajun Company (ikzelf dus), een Cajunworkshop gegeven worden. In deze workshop zal hij (bijna) alles behandelen wat met het spelen van Cajunmuziek te maken heeft en gaan we oefenen in het samen spelen. Uit de deelnemers zullen enkele Cajunbands samengesteld worden die aan het eind van het harmonicaweekend nog gaan optreden ook !.

(Dutch) Na de hectiek van de zomerfestivals komen wij "nader tot u" met een acoustisch optreden in Theater "De Tobbe" in Voorburg. (Dutch) The Cajun Company op de radio.
Zaterdagmiddag, 20 september, in het programma "Spijkers met koppen", VARA Radio 2 van 12.00 tot 14.00 uur, een interview met de bekende fotograaf Emile Waagenaar. Emile maakt al sinds 1980 portretten van Cajunmuzikanten (zie "Photo-album"/7). Deze serie Cajunportretten is nu opgenomen in de collectie van het Smithsonian Institution, Washington DC. Hij zal hier uitgebreid verslag van doen. En dit, samen met Bas van der Poll die zijn verhaal zal aanvullen met informatie over Cajunmuziek in Nederland. (En ze hebben gevraagd of ik mijn Cajunaccordeon wil meenemen, dus als het even tegenzit...... !)
Nog meer Cajun Company op de radio.
Op vrijdagavond, 26 september, in het programma OBA Live, Radio 5 van 19.00 tot 21.00 uur, spelen wij vier nummers van de nieuwe CD "La Prairie Ronde". Live ! Het programma wordt uitgezonden vanuit de Openbare Bibliotheek Amsterdam, Oosterdokskade 143 en is toegankelijk voor publiek. Dus als je in de buurt bent: kom langs ! Anders maar even de radio aan tijdens de afwas....

During the past 15 years the band was honored with several international awards. (see "Biography"/3). We're proud to announce that we recently received two more awards.......
At the 16th Raamsdonksveer International Cajun and Zydecofestival, on June 8, 2008, Pauline was honored with the 5th EUROPEAN CAJUN AND ZYDECO AWARD in the category "Best Fiddleplayer".
Also The Cajun Company received the 5th EUROPEAN CAJUN AND ZYDECO AWARD for their new CD "La Prairie Ronde" in the category "Best European Cajun CD of the year".

Our CD release party was great !
Mr. Cajun - Bob de Kreek - introduced the band and the new CD (thanks, Bob !), we played every song including a couple of encores, PARADISO was packed, we sold (and signed !) many CD's, people were dancing ..........

F I N A L L Y..... the new Cajun Company CD "L A P R A I R I E R O N D E" is out !!
"LA PRAIRIE RONDE" was recorded in April 2007 (!) at the "CYPRESS HOUSE STUDIO", St. Martinville, Louisiana and is produced by Dirk Powell.
You're all welcome to join us at the release party in PARADISO, Amsterdam on SUNDAY June 1st. Doors open at 15.00 hrs.
And.... yes, we're gonne play the whole CD for y'all, starting with track 1 , ending with track 18. The concert starts at 16.00 hrs. Admission: 10 Euro / Members: 7 Euro.
You're all invited, so.... hope to see you at this CAJUN MUSIC EXTRAVAGANZA !

There's some delay with the manufacturing of the new CD. Both the CD label and the booklet contain quite some errors. The whole job has to be done over. This will take another few weeks. We're so sorry. Please check the site later for more information.
But the good news is: For those who are unpatient and/or (very) curious: I added three extra songs of the new CD. (See "Discography".) On page 2 and 3 (Discography) I added 6 extra songs of the previous albums. Enjoy !

About our new CD "La Prairie Ronde": we're getting there. Dirk (Powell, our producer) just send us the final mixes, the CD sleeves (printed by "Stumptown Printers", Portland, Oregon) are in the mail and the booklet is almost finished. The next step is "Salisbury CD Productions" in Dordrecht (Netherlands); they will manufacture the CD and booklet. There will be an official presentation of the CD soon. Please come back for the details.
